
Alabama’s Robert Howard Named SEC Male Swimmer of the Week

The Alexander City, Ala., native earned the accolade after a career weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama junior sprinter Robert Howard was named the Southeastern Conference Male Swimmer of the Week the league office announced Tuesday.
Howard posted three individual wins and was a part of five winning relays during the Georgia Tech Invitational last weekend. He recorded a career-best 41.99 in the 100 freestyle, the nation's top time in the event.
The Alexander City, Ala., native also registered a career-best 19.11 in the 50 freestyle, which ranks him third nationally as well as a career-best 1:33.75 in the 200 freestyle, ranking him fifth nationally. With those times, he is now ranked second all-time at Alabama in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles.
All five relays Howard swam on posted season-best marks and are ranked in the top five nationally, including two at second and two at third.
