Team White Upends Team Crimson in Saturday's Alabama Swimming and Diving Intrasquad

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Team White swept the men's and women's meets in Alabama swimming and diving's Crimson and White Intrasquad Saturday morning.
Team White outscored Team Crimson 178-113 in the men's meet. The women's meet came down the last relay with Team White's 200 freestyle relay of junior Sarah Helm, senior Temarie Tomley, senior Lindsay Morrow and freshman Flora Molnar coming out on top to clinch the meet, 153-132.
On the men's side of the meet, Team White won both the 200 medley and freestyle relays as well as nine of the individual events. Team White also won both women's relays and eight individual events. Senior and Crimson team captain Mia Nonnenberg led the way for her squad, winning the 500 and 1,000 freestyles. Junior Ayanna Woods (1-meter and 3-meter diving) and junior Justine Macfarlane (100 and 200 breaststroke) paced Team White.
Freshman Leonie Kullmann (200 freestyle), senior Hannah Musser (100 backstroke), senior Bailey Scott (50 freestyle) and freshman Alina Faunce (400 individual medley) all earned wins for Team Crimson. Team White captain Helm (200 backstroke), along with senior Paige Matherson (200 butterfly), Tomley (100 freestyle) and Molnar (100 butterfly) rounded out the individual wins for Team White. Junior Katie Kelsoe, Macfarlane, Molnar and Morrow opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay.
On the men's side of the slate, senior captain Luke Kaliszak (100 backstroke and 100 butterfly) and junior Laurent Bams (100 breaststroke and 100 freestyle) led the way for Team White, while senior Will Freeman (200 butterfly and 500 freestyle) led Team Crimson.
Sophomore Daniel Kober (1,000 freestyle), junior Robert Howard (200 freestyle), freshman Michael Burris (200 breaststroke), sophomore Kyle Maas (400 individual medley) and junior Robby Costine (3-meter diving) all earned individual wins for Team White. In addition to Freeman's wins, sophomore Zane Waddell (50 freestyle), senior Christopher Reid (200 backstroke) and senior David Morton (1-meter diving) earned Team Crimson's individual titles.
Sophomore Christopher Staka, Bams, Kaliszak and Howard won the opening 200 medley relay for Team White, while Kaliszak, freshman Jack Blake, Bams and Howard closed the intrasquad with a win in the 200 freestyle relay.
Alabama returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. CT in the Crimson Tide's Southeastern Conference opener against Florida at home in the Alabama Aquatic Center.
