Alabama Men’s Tennis Completes Qualifying Play at USTA $15k Futures

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama men's tennis completed the qualifying round at the USTA $15k Futures in Birmingham, Ala., on Tuesday.
Sophomore Alexey Nesterov fell in the Qualifier Final against Dejon Bivens, 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles play, sophomores Edson Ortiz and Zhe Zhou fell in their first match of the tournament against Fabrizio Ornaga and Matias Zukas, 6-3, 7-6 (2), 10-8.
Sophomore No. 72 Thibault Cancel will begin play in the Main Draw of the tournament beginning on Wednesday against Sergey Belov of Russia, not before 1 p.m. CT.
