Tuesday marked the Ghosts’ second-consecutive win in the annual Ghosts and Goblins Intrasquad and fourth in 14 years
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Ghost squad scared up their second-consecutive win in the annual Alabama gymnastics Ghosts and Goblins Intrasquad Tuesday evening in front of a packed house in the Frances Smith Practice Facility. It was the Ghosts' third win in six years and fourth in the past 14.
"Our word for today was teamwork," UA head coach Dana Duckworth said. "Everyone contributed today. I could go up and down our roster and pick out something great about each and every gymnast tonight. In the end, it came down to landings, which I think is a great lesson for us to learn at this point in the season."
The Ghosts, which earned the win by a score of 50-47, consisted of seniors Kiana Winston and Jennie Loeb, junior Ariana Guerra, sophomores Maddie Desch, Shea Mahoney and Wynter Childers and freshmen Alonza Klopfer and Lexi Graber.
The Goblin mob consisted of seniors Nickie Guerrero and Mackenzie Brannan, juniors Angelina Giancroce and Abby Armbrecht, sophomore Peyton Ernst as well as freshmen Kylie Dickson and Bailie Key.
The Crimson Tide follows the intrasquad with fall break.
"This break comes at a great time," Duckworth said. "They've worked so hard this fall and done everything we've asked of them. I'm extremely proud of our consistency tonight, especially on bars and beam. We're building our endurance on floor and we're looking to get a few more vaulters ready for the lineup, but it is coming along. Now it's just a matter of working on the little things. I'm very pleased."
Season tickets for the Crimson Tide's 2018 season are on sale now through the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum, and online at RollTide.com
