RollTide.com wanted to catch up with Mazen Osama, a junior from Cairo, Egypt. This Fall, Osama is playing professionally back in Egypt and will rejoin the team for the dual match season beginning in January.
How has your time playing professional tennis been for you this Summer & Fall?
"It's been great getting back on the tour and improving my professional ranking and being able to compete in the main draw of challengers."
What can you bring back to Alabama that you learned from playing professionally in Egypt?
"Definitely the spirit that I see around here the tour. It's great to see everyone professionally focused and trying their best to reach their goals."
What is the biggest difference between playing professionally in Egypt and playing SEC college tennis?
"In my opinion, playing in a big SEC school is a big mission, especially if it's Alabama. Â It requires a lot of professionalism and commitment to make a difference, which is the same case when you are playing on the tour it requires all of effort and focusing on small details makes a big difference."
What do you miss the most about Alabama?
"I miss the football season the most."
What are your expectations for the upcoming college tennis season?
"I am expecting us as a team to reach our full potential because we will be a tough team to beat with the talent we have this year."
