Thibault Cancel and Alexey Nesterov Advance to Doubles Semifinal at ITA Southern Regionals

BATON ROUGE, La. – Sophomores Thibault Cancel and Alexey Nesterov advanced to the semifinals in doubles play at the ITA Southern Regional in Baton Rouge, La., after winning both of their matches on Sunday.
Cancel and Nesterov began their day by sneaking past Nikola Samardzic and Julian Saborio of LSU, 8-7 (3). The two then took down Fabian Fallert and Tim Sandkaulen of Ole Miss, 8-3, in the quarterfinal round to advance to the semifinals against Zvonimar Babic and Filip Kraljevic of Ole Miss on Monday at 11 a.m. CT.
Sophomores Edson Ortiz and Zhe Zhou fell to Hamish Stewart and Tim Reutzel of Tulane, 8-4, in the Doubles Round of 16 on Sunday.
In the Singles Consolation Main Draw, Nesterov fell to Clement Marzol of South Alabama, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (8).
