
Alabama Men’s Tennis Grant Stuckey Begins ITA Southern Regional Play

BATON ROUGE, La. – Freshman Grant Stuckey began ITA Southern Regional play in the Qualifying Round in Baton Rouge, La., on Thursday.
Stuckey defeated Andres Romero of Troy, 6-0, 2-6, 6-3, in his first match of the day. The Charlotte, N.C., native followed by falling to Kenton Parton of UAB, 7-6 (4), 6-0. Stuckey will play in the consolation bracket against Viboosh Cahndresekar of Auburn at 9 a.m. on Friday.
The Main Draw will begin on Friday for the rest of the Crimson Tide with sophomore Zhe Zhou taking on Chung Han Tsai of Southern Miss at 1 p.m., while sophomore Edson Ortiz will play against a qualifier at 1 p.m.
On Saturday, sophomore No. 72 Thibault Cancel will play at 9 a.m. with his opponent to be announced, while Alexey Nesterov will play at 10 a.m. with his opponent yet to be determined.
In doubles play, Ortiz and Zhou will compete against Jiaqi Duan and Pelayo Antuna of Troy at 4 p.m. on Friday, while Cancel and Nesterov will play on 5 p.m. on Saturday with their opponents to be determined.
