Ten-Under Day Gives Tide Women 18-Shot Lead Entering Final Day of Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Alabama women's golf team battled through inclement conditions and a long rain delay, to jump out to an 18-shot lead Saturday after two rounds of the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn. The Crimson Tide are 14-under par on the weekend after a 10-under par day on Saturday at the par-72, 6,451-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club. Northwestern is second at four over par, SMU is third at five over par and UCF is fourth at eight over par. Chattanooga and Auburn are tied for fifth at 11 over par.
Alabama sophomore Cheyenne Knight remains in the individual lead after shooting five under par to move to nine under (67-68/135) for the tournament. Freshman Kristen Gillman is tied for second at five under par (71-68/139) after a four under par round on Saturday. Sophomore Lauren Stephenson is tied for eighth after a four under par day moved her to two under (74-68/142) through two rounds. Junior Lakareber Abe is tied for 16th at two over (71-75/146) and senior Mia Landegren is tied for 46th at seven over (75-76/151).
Alabama will be paired with SMU and Northwestern for Sunday's final round. The Tide's Mia Landegren will tee off at 9:40 am Central Time (CT), followed by Lakareber Abe at 9:50 a.m., Lauren Stephenson at 10 a.m., Kristen Gillman at 10:10 a.m. and Cheyenne Knight at 10:20 a.m.
Alabama is seeking its second consecutive Mason Rudolph Championship title. The Tide won last year's tournament with a 16 under par performance (282-280-286/848). Lakareber Abe was the individual medalist, with a 12 under par 204 (67-68-69).
