Hodges, Hitchner both rank among top 20 to lead the Tide after 36 holes

ROCKY FACE, Ga. – The No. 16 Alabama men's golf team slipped to sixth place after the second round of play at the 2016 Carpet Capital Collegiate on Saturday. After a round of 7-under par during Friday's opening 18 holes, the Crimson Tide carded a 7-over par 295 today and is at even par for the tournament with a team total of 576 (281-295).

Junior Lee Hodges continues to pace Alabama, finishing the day in a tie for 16^th overall at 3-under par 141 (68-73). Junior Tyler Hitchner is in a tie for 18^th position to give the Tide two players among the top 20 in the field. Hitchner followed his 4-under par 68 yesterday with a 2-over par 74 on Saturday, closing play with a two-round total of 2-under par 142.

Sophomore Davis Riley carded the low round of the day for the Tide with an even par 72 on the 7,012-yard Farms Golf Club course. The Hattiesburg, Miss., native moves up to 34^th place with a 36-hole total of 146 (74-72).

Junior Steven Setterstrom is in a tie for 37^th place with a 147 (71-76), while redshirt freshman Alex Green rounds out the Tide in 62^nd with a 151 (74-77).

Redshirt freshman Josh Sedeno, who is playing as an individual, is in a tie for 37^th overall with a 36-hole score of 147 (73-74).

Virginia, ranked 21^st in the nation, leads the field with a team total of 23-under par 553 (276-277), followed by No. 11 Auburn (556). Thirteenth-ranked Clemson (565) is in third, while No. 7 LSU (567) and No. 6 Florida (569) round out the top five.

The Tide will tee off the third and final round off Hole No. 1 at 8:45 a.m. ET (7:45 a.m. CT) and will be paired with LSU and Florida. Live stats can be found on Golfstat.com.
