
Alabama’s Erin Routliffe Advances to Roger’s Cup Qualifiers Bracket

MONTREAL, Quebec – Alabama women's tennis rising senior and impact player Erin Routliffe, a native Canadian, won three matches in the Roger's Cup singles pre-qualifying bracket to earn a wildcard to the qualifiers bracket, where she will take on Kristina Kucova tomorrow at the Uniprix Stadium in Montreal, Quebec.
The Roger's Cup is presented by National Bank, and it is a sanctioned Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Premier 5 Event.
Routliffe won all three of her matches in just two sets, and she was one of two players to earn a wildcard to compete in the qualifiers bracket. In her first match she defeated Clemson's Marie-Alexandre Leduc, 6-4, 6-4, before dominating Vanessa Wong, 6-1, 6-3, in the second round. Routliffe clinched her wildcard berth into the qualifiers bracket with a third round victory over Petra Januskova, 6-1, 7-6(7), who currently has an ITF singles ranking of No. 637.
In tomorrow's match, Routliffe will take on Kristina Kucova, a native of Slovakia, who has an ITF singles ranking of No. 121. Tomorrow's match time is still to be determined.
