TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama Rowing has added five rowers during the spring signing period that will join the team for the 2016-17 season. In addition to the seven signed in the fall, the group will arrive on campus as one of the most well-rounded signing classes in program history.
"This signing group helps round out and balance out one of our strongest classes we've ever signed," head coach Larry Davis said. "The athletes we signed in the fall have already showed great improvement since we signed them and we hope that this group shows similar progress so that when they arrive in the fall, they will have an immediate impact on our competitive ability. It is the strongest overall group that we've had in program history. We are excited to see what they can do to help us move forward as a team."
The spring signing class includes Elle Anderson (Winter Park, Fla.), Hunter James (Cary, N.C.), Elaine Schutte (Cincinnati, Ohio), Katie Toth (Providence, R.I.) and Sophia Yurosek (Clyde Hill, Wash.).
Check back on the rowing page at rolltide.com for individual athlete profiles that will be posted in the coming days.
They will join the seven incoming freshmen that the Crimson Tide signed in the fall: Gabriella Crawford (Milton Keynes, UK), Sydney Boles (Maryville, Tenn.), Peyton Cowell (San Diego, Calif.), Kylie Diffley (New Berlin, Wis.), Sarah Giuliani (Brightwaters, N.Y.), Arielle Schafer (Egg Harbor, N.J.) and Ariana Sweany (Vacaville, Calif.).
