Alabama Women’s Golf Finishes Sixth at the Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Cheyenne Knight posted her fourth top 10 finish in four fall outings with a tie for third place at the Landfall Tradition on Sunday. Knight shot a one-under par 71 in Sunday's final round to finish at five-under par for the tournament, which was held at the par-72, 6,166-yard Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.

Wake Forest (288-284-287/859) and South Carolina (297-282-280/859) tied for first at five-under par. Furman (296-284-286/866) finished third at two-over par. Purdue (291-289-292/872) was fourth at eight-over par. Oklahoma (284-295-298/877) was fifth at 13-over par.

In addition to Knight's performance, sophomore Lauren Stephenson tied for 11th at one-under par (71-73-71/215). Freshman Kristen Gillman tied for 21st at four-over par (72-76-72/220). Senior Mia Landegren (81-77-78/236) tied for 80th while fellow senior Cammie Gray (80-78-82/240) finished 90th.

This weekend's tournament was Alabama's final outing of the fall season. The Crimson Tide will begin the spring portion of its schedule at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes, Calif., Feb. 12-14, 2017.
