Alabama Swimming and Diving Ranked in Initial CSCAA Poll

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's and women's swimming and diving teams are both featured in the first College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Swimming & Diving Top-25 Poll of the 2016-17 season.
The Crimson Tide men check in at No. 5 and are the top-ranked Southeastern Conference team in the initial rankings. Indiana, Texas, NC State and California make up the rest of the top five. The Alabama women check in at No. 25, with Michigan topping the inaugural poll.
The Tide men finished last season at No. 6 following the NCAA Championships while the women were 28th. Alabama's men are 2-0 overall on the season and 1-0 in SEC competition after a decisive win at Missouri in mid-October. The Tide women are 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the SEC.
Rankings are compiled by CSCAA-member coaches and released on a bi-weekly basis.Â
The Tide continues its season on Friday, Nov. 4, traveling to south Alabama to take on in-state rival Auburn at 3Â p.m. The Tiger men and women are both ranked 10th nationally.
