Alabama Men’s Tennis Set to Compete in ITA Southern Regional Championships

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's tennis team is set to compete in the ITA Southern Regional Championships, which begin Friday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn, Ala. The tournament is a four-day event and will feature 14 programs in the region, consisting of schools from Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi.
There will be one 128-entry draw in singles and one 64-entry draw in doubles, along with the singles consolation bracket.
Teams participating include host Auburn, Alabama, Jacksonville State, Louisiana-Lafayette, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Nicholls State, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, Tulane and UAB. Play begins Friday and Saturday at 8 a.m.; Sunday and Monday start times will be set later.
Matchups will be announced Thursday evening once draws are made available and will be posted on RollTide.com. Matches on the main six courts will be livestreamed online.
The singles and doubles champions advance to the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y., in November.
