Crimson Tide Second After 36 Holes at Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The Crimson Tide continued to play well on day two of the Mason Rudolph Championship, recording an 8-under 280 on the par-72 6,321-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club South Course Saturday afternoon. Alabama is one shot behind leader Georgia at 14-under, and sophomore Lakareber Abe has a two-shot cushion on the individual leaderboard at 9-under.
The native of Angleton, Texas, Abe was one-under on the front nine and recorded three consecutive birdies to start the back nine. She stumbled at 13, carding a triple bogey, but recovered by sinking three more birdies to finish 4-under (68) for the round.
Senior Emma Talley bounced back from a 2-over opening round to shoot 3-under on Saturday, with four birdies compared to a single bogey. Fellow senior Janie Jackson entered the back nine 1-over but managed to knock in three birdies from there for a 2-under 70.
Freshman Cheyenne Knight slipped to 2-over early in the round, but birdied hole 7 and made par the rest of the way for a 1-over 73. Junior Cammie Gray ended the day 4-over par.
Georgia surged up the leaderboard with a 13-under 275 to hold a one-stroke advantage going into Sunday. Northwestern is third at 12-under, and three teams are tied for fourth at 1-under.
