Alabama Men's Tennis Continues Strong Summer Showing

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Senior Becker O'Shaughnessey and junior Hayes Brewer took down top-seeded Ryler DeHeart and Rahim Esmail to claim the doubles title at this weekend's "Game, Set, Be The Match" Men's Open in Birmingham, Ala.
O'Shaughnessey and Brewer continued their strong summers leading up to the 2015-16 season this weekend, as the duo teamed up to win the doubles championship at the "Game, Set, Be The Match" Men's Open in Birmingham. The tournament's No. 2 seed, O'Shaughnessey and Brewer defeated No. 1 seed Ryler DeHeart (current UA assistant coach) and Rahim Esmail (former UA women's assistant coach & current Samford men's head coach) in the final match by a final score of 6-3, 6-2.
This weekend's win marked the second doubles title for O'Shaughnessey this summer, as the Tide's lone senior also took both the singles and doubles titles at the Georgia State Men's Open. The Macon, Ga. native also reached the singles semifinals at the Lifetime Athletics Men's Open and the ITA/USTA National Summer Championships
Brewer has won a pair of doubles titles at ITA Summer events this offseason, including the Tuscaloosa event with teammate Langford Hills.
