OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - Alabama rowing will open its spring season this weekend at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn., at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, hosted by Louisville.
A total of 11 crews will be represented this weekend, as the Crimson Tide will be competing against Virginia, Yale, Notre Dame, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan State Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee and UCF. Two days of events will begin on Saturday as the teams will compete in the Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, Varsity 4, Second Varsity 4 and Third Varsity 8/Novice 8.
Melton Hill Lake provides a familiar course for Alabama, as it was previously the site of the Conference USA championships and will be the site of this season's Big 12 Championships as the Tide begin its first season under the Big 12 banner.
This is the first competition of the spring season before Alabama returns home for two straight weeks, hosting Drake on Saturday, March 21 and Jacksonville on Saturday, March 28.
