Men's Tennis Takes Down Auburn, 4-1

AUBURN, Ala. - The 66th-ranked men's tennis team won its second straight Southeastern Conference match with a 4-1 victory over No. 39 Auburn on Friday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. With the win, the Crimson Tide improves to 12-9 overall and 2-2 in SEC play, while the loss drops the Tigers to 11-5 on the season and 1-3 versus league opponents.
Sean Donohue and Stuart Kenyon wasted no time getting Alabama on the board as the Tide's No. 2 duo raced to a 6-1 victory over Auburn's Maxime Hinnisdaels and Dante Saleh. The point was then clinched at No. 1 by Korey Lovett and Becker O'Shaughnessey as the duo outlasted the Tigers' Marko Krickovic and Oliver Plaskett, 6-4.
Lovett then gave the Tide a 2-0 lead after posting the first win in singles, beating out Lukas Ollert, 6-4, 6-2 on court one. Auburn earned its lone point next as Hinnisdaels won 6-3, 6-4 on court three over Danny Kerznerman. From there, Alabama earned a pair a straight set victories, one from Nikko Madregallejo and the clincher from Kenyon, to seal the team win.
The Tide remains on the road for its next match, which will take place at Noon CT on Sunday at No. 18 Florida.
