Alabama Gymnastics Hosts Annual Ghosts and Goblins Intrasquad Thursday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The two-time defending Southeastern Conference champion Alabama gymnastics team will host its annual Ghosts and Goblins intrasquad on Thursday, Oct. 22 at the Frances Smith Practice Facility in Coleman Coliseum.
Fans will be admitted to Coleman Coliseum at the southeast corner (the UA Law School side of the Coliseum) starting at 6 p.m. and the competition starts at 6:30 p.m. Seats are limited.
"This event gives our amazing fans an opportunity to get a sneak peek at this year's team and it will give our ladies, especially our freshmen, an opportunity to compete under some pressure," UA head coach Dana Duckworth said.
The event is slated to last 90 minutes and will not only feature great gymnastics but provides an opportunity to learn more about collegiate gymnastics scoring.
The annual intrasquad gives the current Crimson Tide squad a chance to compete in front of a crowd for the first time this year as well as giving fans a first look at this year's freshmen and a peek what the Tide's returnees - which includes five All-Americans - are working on for the coming season.
The Goblins are looking for their third title in a row and ninth in the past 11 years, while the Ghosts are looking for their second title in four years. Returning All-Americans Lauren Beers, Carley Sims, Katie Bailey, Keely McNeer and Mackenzie Brannan will be action, as will the Tide's six freshmen.
