This past season marked Alabama's fifth SEC Championship in program history, and the fourth over the last five years. The Crimson Tide finished SEC play with a 19-5 conference record, earning the top seed at the SEC Tournament and the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Alabama has qualified for the NCAA Tournament every season since 1999 and is the only team in the country to qualify for every NCAA Super Regional round since the round's inception in 2005. Alabama also made its ninth appearance in the Women's College World Series in 2014, winning its first three games against Oklahoma, Kentucky and Oregon before ultimately falling to Florida in the championship series.
