Men's Tennis Drops Match at No. 16 Florida

Alabama nearly came back to win the doubles point, but the Tide was edged out as 11th-ranked Elliott Orkin and Gordon Watson gave the Gators a 1-0 lead, winning 8-7(5) over No. 62 Becker O'Shaughnessey and Daniil Proskura on court one. Alabama's Sean Donohue and Stuart Kenyon picked up an 8-5 win on court two, however Florida would get the 8-4 victory on court three for the point.
In singles, the Gators won a trio of points first on court three, followed by two and finally five for the match-clincher as Mike Alford topped Andrew Goodwin, 6-2, 6-4. The remaining three matches would go unfinished.
Alabama returns home next weekend to host Vanderbilt and No. 14 Kentucky. The Tide will take on the Commodores on Friday, March 28, at 5 p.m. CT before hosting the Wildcats on Sunday, March 30, at 1 p.m. CT.
