Ashley Williams Named SEC Freshman of the Week

Williams was a key contributor in the post for the Crimson Tide last week, helping Alabama to wins against No. 9/8 Kentucky and Georgia where she averaged 11.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. She scored a team-high tying 16 points in the victory over the Lady Bulldogs, going 7-for-8 from the floor, in addition to a team-high nine rebounds.
For the season, Williams leads the Tide in shooting percentage, hitting 52.7 percent of her attempts, and rebounds with 6.0 boards per game. She is also third on the team in scoring at 11.4 points per game.
