
Track & Field Athletes Ranked Nationally

The University of Alabama track and field team currently has six student-athletes ranked in the top 25 nationally and overall 15 performances in the top 50 to date this outdoor season.
The Crimson Tide men have seven athletes ranked in the top 50 right now. Tyler Campbell cleared a 7-1 bar in the high jump on his way to a second-place finish at the Ole Miss Invitational on March 31 to place 11th in the country. Kamal Fuller recorded a jump of 24-8.5 at the Alabama Relays for the No. 15 spot in the nation at the Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa on March 24.
Dwayne Extol competed in the 200 meters for the first time this season at the Ole Miss Invitational this past weekend. Extol finished third in the men's 200 meters in 20.99 to nab the No. 23 ranking in the country.
For the women's team, eight athletes are placed in the Top 50. Krystle Schade has third best mark in the country for the high jump when she cleared a 6-0 at the Alabama Relays. Shani Chandler comes in at No. 17 for her 59.04 performance in the 400-meter hurdles at the Ole Miss Invitational.
Amethyst Holmes is ranked 26th in the nation as she continued her outstanding season by tacking another four feet onto her personal best in the women's hammer throw with a toss 190-8, the fourth best throw in school history, at the Ole Miss Invitational.
Two Tide athletes are ranked No. 1 overall in the SEC: Austin Duckworth in the 5,000 meters for his 14:50.93 time at the Alabama Relays and Schade for her high jump performance at the Alabama Relays.
The SEC currently has six women's teams ranked in the Top 25 nationally including No. 2 LSU and No. 6 Arkansas. There are seven men's programs from the SEC presently inside the Top 25 as well counting No. 1 Florida, No. 2 LSU, No. 4 Arkansas and No. 9 Mississippi State.
The Crimson Tide will have a week off from competition to train and prepare for its next meet, the Spec Towns Invitational, April 13-14 in Athens, Ga.
