SEATTLE, Wash. - The Alabama gymnastics team, the No. 1 seed at Saturday's NCAA Seattle Regional Championship, took some time to see the sights on Thursday after arriving in the Emerald City Wednesday night.
The team toured the world famous Space Needle, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, posed for a picture outside the building used as the exterior of the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital on Grey's Anatomy television series, a team favorite, as well as taking in some of the nearly 400 pieces of public art that is spread throughout the city.
After taking in the sights today, the Crimson Tide will practice at the Alaskan Airways Arena on the University of Washington campus on Friday and will face off against LSU, Arizona, Washington, Iowa and Central Michigan on Saturday at 4 p.m. PDT. The Crimson Tide will be looking for its 27th NCAA Regional Championship.
Fans can follow all the action from the Seattle Regional on WVUA-FM radio, located at 90.7 on the FM dial or online at www.wvuafm.ua.edu. Links to live scoring and Washington's video stream can be found at RollTide.com and GymTide.com.
