TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The defending national champion Alabama gymnastics team will hold an open practice in the main arena of Coleman Coliseum Friday, Jan. 6 starting at 12 p.m.
"This will give our fans an opportunity to get a sneak peek at this year's team," UA head coach Sarah Patterson said. "And it will also give our ladies, especially the freshmen, a chance to get ready for the season opener and adjust to the environment they'll experience during our home meets."
The Crimson Tide, which returned to campus on Dec. 27 after the Christmas holiday, gets the 2012 season underway Friday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at home against 10-time NCAA Champion Georgia. ESPN2 will broadcast the meet on a tape-delayed basis. Last season Alabama averaged 12,730 fans per meet, giving the Tide the second highest average of any women's athletics team in the nation for the second year in a row.
Both individual meet tickets and season packages are available through the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum, or online at RollTide.com.
