Chattanooga Beats Memphis, 2-1

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Chattanooga Mocs came back from the loser's bracket of the 2011 NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Regional being held at the Rhoads Softball Complex this weekend, to advance to Sunday's championship game, after beating Memphis 2-1, eliminating the Tigers in the region's fifth game.
The game was scoreless until the top of the sixth inning when Chattanooga scored a pair of runs. The Tigers, who lost to Alabama in Saturday's first game to drop into an elimination game, made it interesting, putting a trio of runners on base in the bottom of the seventh, scoring one and stranding two.
Alabama beat Jackson State on Friday night and Memphis in Saturday's first game to advance to the championship game. After losing to Memphis on Friday, Chattanooga beat Jackson State in Saturday's second game before exacting its revenge on Memphis to advance to the championship game.
