Football Coach Nick Saban Congratulates Gymnastics Team on SEC Title

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama head football coach Nick Saban stopped by Coleman Coliseum Thursday to visit with to the Crimson Tide gymnastics team prior to the start of one of the team's finals practices before the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional Championships get underway Saturday at 6 p.m.
In addition to congratulating them on winning the 2011 Southeastern Conference Championship, he encouraged the gymnasts to continue to focus on the process of success and to maintain a high standard instead of being distracted by expectations or focusing on the outcome.
Saban's words echoed head gymnastics coach Sarah Patterson's postseason outlook.
"We don't really have an offense and a defense," Patterson said. "We can only come out there and do what we are capable of doing and if we do that we will advance. I think that is really where our focus has been. This team seems to do better when they focus on themselves and not on their surroundings or their opponents."
Tickets for the NCAA Regional Championships are available through RollTide.com and the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum. The first 1,500 UA students will be admitted free with their ACT card.
