
Crimson Tide Holds Steady in National and Regional Rankings

NEW ORLEANS - Buoyed by a first-place finish at last weekend's Crimson Classic, the University of Alabama men's cross country team held its position in both the national and regional rankings released this with by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association.
The Crimson Tide remains ranked fifth in the nation and just outside the cusp of those teams receiving first-place votes in Stanford, Oklahoma State, Oregon and Northern Arizona. The squad also held on to its top regional ranking in the South Region, which it has won in three consecutive years.
The Crimson Tide entered the season with the same rankings in both the organization's preseason poll and first set of regular-season rankings.
The squad will have a week off from competition to prepare for its first true national meet of the season in the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 1 in South Bend, Ind.
