Alabama to Host ITA Summer Circuit Event

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama will host a 2010 ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit event in Tuscaloosa July 23-26 at the University of Alabama Tennis Complex. Alabama is the fourth and final stop on the Southeast Circuit, one of eight regional circuits around the country that give incoming freshmen and returning players a chance to play during the summer months. Each region includes four consecutive open tournaments in the month of July leading up to the ITA National Summer Championships Aug. 7-11, which will be held in Bloomington, Ind.
The Crimson Tide men's team will be well represented in the tournament, as seven student-athletes are participating. Senior Trey Walston, juniors Creighton Blanchard, Vikram Reddy and Michael Thompson, sophomores Harris Barnard and Ian Chadwell, and incoming freshman Carlos Taborga will all be in action this weekend. Incoming freshman Alex Clay will represent the women's team.
Play begins on Friday at 2 p.m. CST.
