
Morgan Earns CoSIDA All-District Softball Honors

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama senior Charlotte Morgan was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District first-team as announced by CoSIDA. Morgan nabs the academic accolade for the third time in her career and is now once again eligible to garner Academic All-America honors.
To be eligible for All-District status, players must have at least a 3.30 GPA with at least sophomore standing, both academically and athletically, and completed at least two semesters at their current institution. They also must have played in a minimum of 50 percent of the team's games.
Morgan is wrapping up her degree in criminal justice this semester and sports a 3.75 GPA. The senior from Moreno Valley, Calif., is also a finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award - an honor that is bestowed upon the top senior softball student-athlete in the country.
Morgan enters the final weekend of the regular season with a .344 batting average and a team-leading 15 home runs and 62 RBI. The senior shattered the Southeastern Conference career RBI record of 242 and sports 252 thus far.
Alabama will look to claim its second SEC regular season title this weekend as it hits the road to face Mississippi State. If the Crimson Tide sweeps the Bulldogs it will win the regular-season championship. The series begins on Saturday, May 8 at 1:00 p.m.
