
NCAA Singles Championships Begin for Saketh Myneni Wednesday

ATHENS, Ga. - Senior Saketh Myneni will take on Radford junior Ivan Salec in the Round of 64 of the 2010 NCAA Singles Championships on Wednesday, May 26 at 1:00 p.m. CST. All action takes place at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the University of Georgia campus.
Myneni has enjoyed a solid senior campaign racking up a 17-6 record in dual match play. He is in the midst of a 10-match win streak dating back to March 21 when he retired against Vanderbilt. Myneni, currently ranked No. 21 in the nation, earned All-SEC First Team honors for the second consecutive season in addition to being named the Farnsworth/ITA Senior Player of the Year for the Southern Region.
Salec advanced to the tournament by way of automatic bid for being the highest ranked player in the Big South Conference. In the most recent ITA poll, the Croatia native was ranked 79th. Salec is a three-time all-conference selection and earned a 16-6 record at the No. 1 singles position this season. The three-time Big South Player of the Week enters the tournament having won 16 of his previous 18 matches, with 13 of those victories coming in straight sets.
