
Tuscaloosa Regional Leads NCAA in Regional Attendance

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The NCAA Division I Softball Tournament's Tuscaloosa Regional, hosted by the University of Alabama, paced the nation in attendance last weekend with a total of 7,140 fans partaking in the softball festivities over the three-day period. Saturday's crowd was the largest one-day crowd of any regional, with 2,647 fans watching the tripleheader at the Alabama Softball Complex.
The Alabama Softball Complex, the nation's largest collegiate softball stadium by capacity, has seen a number of attendance records set with in its confines. This year Alabama shattered the single season total attendance record with 71,424 fans attending home games in Tuscaloosa. Fresno State previously held the total attendance record at 55,746.
Alabama will host Hawai'i this weekend in the Tuscaloosa Super Regional. The first game of the best-of-three series will be held Friday at either 5:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. Saturday's game will begin at 4:00 p.m. CDT. All games will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.
