TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - UAB scored seven runs in the first three innings and another three in the top of the seventh, eliminating Alcorn State, 10-1 in game four of the NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Regional. UAB junior Caley Walden led the way for the Blazers at the plate with three hits, two runs and an RBI in four plate appearances.
UAB junior Alisha Smith took the win, upping her season record to 14-13. Alcorn State's Jennie Hatch takes the loss, falling to 10-16 on the year. UAB returns to action at 6:30 p.m. today vs. Lipscomb in an elimination game. The winner of that game will face Alabama Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Regional Championship Game.
