
Women's Basketball Hosts McNeese State Tuesday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The women's basketball team (4-0) returns to Coleman Coliseum as it welcomes McNeese State (2-1) on Tuesday, Nov. 23. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. CT.
The Crimson Tide is on a four-game winning streak and will aim to continue the pattern when its faces off with the Cowgirls. Last time out, Alabama overtook Georgia Southern 65-55. The matchup with the Eagles was the closest game of the season so far for the Tide.
"The most important thing for us right now is sustaining the intensity level we play with," Alabama head coach Wendell Hudson said. "We keep getting better as a team with each passing game. We also have added a few different things along the way and will continue to do so to prepare this team for Southeastern Conference play."
Freshman Jasmine Robinson scored a game-high 16 points, while senior Tierney Jenkins collected 12 points and added 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. In addition, she moved up to No. 16 on Alabama's all-time scoring list passing Cassandra Crumpton. Jenkins now has 1,097 career points.
Last time out, McNeese State got its first win at home with a 100-50 victory over Texas College. Sophomore Ashlyn Baggett scored 22 points against the Bobcats upping her team-high season average to 18.7 points. Senior Kiara Johnson leads the team in rebounds with 7.0 boards per game, while sophomore Caitlyn Baggett dishes out a team-best 4.0 assists per contest.
Alabama is 2-0 against McNeese State winning 62-54 at the Southern Miss Classic during the 1988-89 season and 84-55 at home during the 2006-07 season.
Season tickets for the regular season are on sale for $40 for general public and $25 for staff and faculty at the University of Alabama. Single-game tickets are on sale at the cost of $5 for adults and $3 for youth 18 and under.
