Gymnastics Welcomes Freshmen to Campus

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Head coach Sarah Patterson and the Alabama Gymnastics coaching staff welcomed the newest members of the Crimson Tide team to campus with a freshman dinner on Monday.
"We're very excited to have these ladies here at Alabama and I know they're ready and eager to get their freshman year off to a great start," Patterson said.
Marissa Gutierrez, Ashley Sledge and Mary Hauswirth joined Sarah and David Patterson, starting their 32nd year coaching the Tide, and assistant coaches Bryan Raschilla and Dana Duckworth for dinner at the Patterson's house. The group also took the opportunity to celebrate Hauswirth's birthday in the process.
Gutierrez hails from Houston, Texas. Sledge is a native of Fairview Heights, Ill. and Hauswirth is from Utica, Mich. All three women, along with the rest of this year's team start classes at the Captstone on Wednesday.
