TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Mississippi Valley State scored one run in the bottom of the first inning and proceeded to cling to that lead all the way, eliminating Chattanooga, 1-0 in game four of the NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Regional. The game was delayed nearly four hours due to inclement weather earlier in the day.
The only score of the game came when Haleigh Eubanks drove in Rashundra Brass. The two teams combined for five hits on the night. MVSU's Lisa Jansen came away with the win, improving to 15-7 on the season while Chattanooga's Brooke Loudermilk took the loss, dropping to 8-3.
Mississippi Valley State returns to action Sunday at 11 a.m. vs. Texas in an elimination game. The winner of that game will face Alabama at 1:30 a.m. in the regional championship game.
