
Three Gymnasts Compete for Individual NCAA Championships Saturday

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Alabama Gymnastics team, fresh off its 11th top-2 finish at the NCAA Championships Friday night, will have a chance for individual titles Saturday as Crimson Tide gymnasts compete in the individual event finals.
Freshman Ashley Priess will compete on the uneven bars and balance beam. Junior Morgan Dennis will go on the uneven bars while junior Ricki Lebegern will compete on the balance beam. The individual finals get under way at 6 p.m. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on the University of Nebraska campus.
On the uneven bars, 16 gymnasts qualified for event finals. Dennis will compete in the 11th position while Priess will 13th. On the balance beam there are 12 entrants and Priess is up fifth while Lebegern will go eighth.
Priess earned first team All-American honors on the beam and bars while Dennis and Lebegern were first team on the bars and beam respectively. Priess and Lebegern earned second team All-American honors on the floor exercise and in the all-around. Freshman Rachel Terrey earned second team All-American honors on the vault.
Dennis ran her career total up to six All-American honors while the rest of the Tide's contingent earned their first honors. Overall, 55 Alabama gymnasts have earned 238 All-American honors since 1982.
