
Gymnastics Starts NCAA Team Finals on Vault

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Alabama Gymnastics team, which won the evening session of the NCAA Championship preliminaries to advance to Friday's Super Six Team Finals, will start the night on the vault the NCAA committee announced late Thursday night.
The Crimson Tide drew the same rotation teams get for a home meet. After starting on the vault, Alabama will go to the first of two byes, and then the uneven bars and balance beam, then its second bye before finishing off the night on the floor exercise. The Tide is one of a record five Southeastern Conference teams that advanced to the team finals this year. Alabama will be joined by Georgia, Florida, LSU and Arkansas on Friday with Utah rounding out the finals.
Florida will start on the first bye while Georgia starts on the uneven bars. The Utes begin on the balance beam and LSU gets going on the second bye while Arkansas, in its first Super Six, starts on the floor exercise.
Alabama, at its 27th NCAA Championship, is guaranteed its 25th top-six finish. The 2009 SEC Champions have won its three postseason meets, including tonight and the Northeast Regional Championship.
