Head Coach Wendell Hudson
Opening Statement:
"I thought we really needed a game like this that we had tonight. We got the chance to play a lot of people. It was a fun game for us. We had 19 assists, and I don't care who you're playing, if you're sharing the basketball that way, you should be playing pretty good. I'm real excited about the team effort, 59 rebounds, 19 assists, and like I said it doesn't matter who you're playing. That's a big part of playing together and growing up as a team."
On getting a lot of players into today's game:
"We're going to play a lot of people because we'd like to play quick tempo, running up and down the court. It was important to get some other players some playing time tonight. We got some people to play five, seven, 10 minutes that really haven't been playing a lot and that was good for this team. We got a chance to look at a bunch of different combinations."
On how the team feels after this game:
"I think the team feels like they should be 3-0 right now instead of 2-1 because we gave one away. For them to come back out with the pressure and not worry about the name on the jersey and just play our way, I think that's real important."
On making big runs:
"I'll take a 24-2 run every day of the week. Our style of play and we've said this from the beginning, we run up and down the court. We talked to the team about not running plays. We really don't want to run plays as much as we want to keep pressure on teams from a defensive standpoint and push the ball up and down the court. I thought LaToya King got us off to a good start from a tempo standpoint and made some outstanding passes."
Junior Forward Tierney Jenkins
On everyone getting involved offensively:
"I think that (everyone getting involved offensively) was the main thing for us. Before the game, Coach Hudson was telling us that we needed to share the ball and try to get as many assists as possible. That was our mindset coming into the game, getting the ball to whoever was open and get the rebound if they miss. We were thinking share the ball the whole time."
On Alabama's big run in the first half: "I didn't even pay attention to it. We were just running so much. Coach was saying 'Push the ball' from the sideline. I didn't even realize until there was a timeout and I looked out the scoreboard. It was good because Coach Hudson wants us to push the ball all the time. We saw if we pushed the ball what will happen."
Senior Guard Dedrea Magee
On Alabama's defense:
"I think everybody just stepped up their defensive intensity. We jumped in the passing lanes and helped each other out. That's what really got us up. We were able to get steals and get rebounds and push the ball. That helped us get easy transition points."
On everyone getting involved offensively:
"My main goal is to get assists and get everyone involved. I think everyone played tonight and got on the board so that was a plus. Everyone was working hard and came out and played hard."
