
Women's Cross Country Finishes Seventh at OSU Jamboree

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Alabama women's cross country team was led by true freshman Katlyn Will to a seventh place team finish on the OSU Cross Country Course at the OSU Jamboree on Saturday.
Will paced the Tide on the 5,000 meter course with a 18th place finish and a time of 17:56.20. She was followed by Sara Vaughn who finished 34th running a time of 18:16.80.
The next five Crimson Tide athletes finished within six seconds of each other led by Kelsey Johnson in 45th and a time of 18:30.70. Following Johnson was Haley Moody (46th, 18:31.00), Leigh Gilmore (47th, 18:31.90), Sarah Gilmore (48th, 18:32.00) and Elsbeth Denton (52nd, 18:36.00).
Meghan Hawkins (125th) and Megan Williams (133rd) rounded out the Tide finishers with times of 19:38.80 and 19:48.60, respectively.
In the team standings, Texas Tech claimed the title with 36 points as Kansas finished second with 107 points. William & Mary (128), Northern Arizona (138) and Missouri Southern State (141) rounded out the top five. Alabama placed seventh tallying 186 points.
The Crimson Tide will compete again in two weeks on Oct. 17 at Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind.
