TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Each week, RollTide.com will feature a member of the women's cross country team in which the athlete will answer a few questions asked by RollTide.com. This week, freshman Katlyn Will, a native of LaGrange, Ga., is featured.
RollTide.com - After you recently led the Crimson Tide at the OSU Jamboree and as a true freshman, this Alabama squad has now been led by a freshman at least once in the past three years. What do you think that says about the coaching staff and team?
Will - The coaches are recruiting very competitive athletes with the talent to support the team goals of winning meets and ultimately championships.
RollTide.com - If you were Coach Hasenbank, you would...
Will - come up with 500 hundred nicknames for Katlyn.
RollTide.com - Who is the person you would most like to meet?
Will - I would like to meet Roger Bannister. He was the first person to break the four minute mile. Bannister broke the four minute mile without the running technology that we have today.
RollTide.com - What goes through your mind in the last few minutes before a race?
Will - I am focused on the task that is before me. I am nervous, but I am ready to start the race.
RollTide.com - What is your best non-athletic talent?
Will - I feel that I am really good with children. I enjoy helping and working with children.
RollTide.com - What is your dream job?
Will - I would love to continue my running career. Also, I want to work at a children's hospital such as St. Jude.
RollTide.com - When did you know you wanted run at the Division I level?
Will - I knew I wanted to run at the Division I level when I realized how much I loved to run. I did not want my running career to end after high school.
