
Women's Golf Secures Seventh Place Finish

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The No. 7 ranked Alabama women's golf team finished championship play at the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship by placing seventh overall. The Crimson Tide used a final day score of 293 (+5) to record a final championship score of 883 (+19). UCLA took top honors with a final score of 850 (-14) at the Legends Golf Course.
Senior All-American Kathleen Ekey wrapped up play in impressive fashion by finishing tied for seventh overall. The Wadsworth, Ohio native fired a 69 (-3) to finish the tournament under par with a 213 (-3). Ekey sank three birdies on the front nine and then followed that with two more after the turn to pace the Crimson Tide.
Sophomore Camilla Lennarth followed with a final championship score of 221 (+5). Lennarth cared a final round score of 77 (+5). The Stockholm, Sweden native tallied two birdies on the day to finish championship play tied for 23rd.
Freshman Brooke Pancake wrapped up her third tournament at the collegiate ranks with a 54-hole score of 222 (+6). Pancake fired a final round score of 73 (+1) - her best round of the championship to place tied for 31st overall. The Chattanooga, Tenn. native sank three birdies on the round.
Junior Helena Blomberg also saved her best round for last as she ended play with a score of 231 (+15) after recording a final round 74 (+2). Sophomore Courtney Harter also finished the championship with a final score of 231 after carding a final round of 77 (+5). The duo tied for 64th overall.
Alabama will take nearly a month off before its next tournament. The Crimson Tide will next take to the course on Oct. 24 for the Derby Invitational hosted by Auburn University.
