
Women's Golf Opens Mason Rudolph in Ninth Place

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The No. 7 Alabama women's golf team completed the first round of the Mason Rudolph Championship Friday in a tie for ninth place shooting a 298 (+10) on the Legends Golf Course. The Crimson Tide is 12 strokes behind first-day leader Oklahoma State.
Senior Kathleen Ekey paced Alabama in round one, posting a 72 (E) to sit in a tie for 17th place. Ekey birdied her final two holes to make a push up the leader board. The preseason honorable mention All-American earned her first top 10 finish of the season in her last outing at the Cougar Classic.
Sophomore Camilla Lennarth and freshman Brooke Pancake each shot 74 (+2) on the day and are tied for 30th. Pancake had three birdies in her round to tie with Ekey for the team lead in that category. Lennarth sank two birdies during her round. Both Lennarth and Pancake have one top 10 finish early in the season.
Junior Helena Blomberg holed two birdies in round one and concluded the day in a tie for 58th with a score of 78 (+6). Courtney Harter rounded out the Tide's competitors shooting a 79 (+7) that leaves her in a tie for 68th.
