TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Rolltide.com and the Alabama women's cross country team have started a new weekly segment called seven Questions. Select players and coaches will check in weekly on Rolltide.com and answer questions pertaining to things on and off the field. The first edition features sophomore Haley Moody.
Rolltide.com: When and why did you start running?
Haley Moody: I started running in 5th grade when we had to do the mile test for P.E. and I beat all the boys, haha, so I decided I'd do it in middle school.
Rolltide.com: What's it like to be a team leader as a sophomore?
Moody: It's kind of a lot of pressure but it's exciting for me to be able to help bring the team together and be one of the leaders on the team for the freshman.
Rolltide.com: What are your personal goals and what are the team goals for the season?
Moody: My personal goals, well, I want to place well at SECs... I just want to improve from last year really. I want to run my best and hopefully make nationals this year. For the team, well we have a lot good freshman girls that came in this year and everybody seems to be better trained than last year so hopefully we can just improve as a team at SECs and try to keep improving throughout the year.
Rolltide.com: What's something that most people don't know about you?
Moody: I like to cook! I guess a few of my teammates would know that, but I really love to cook.
Rolltide.com: Who's the best dancer on the team?
Moody: I'd say Jordan... but she wouldn't tell you that!
Rolltide.com: Why did you choose to come to The University of Alabama?
Moody: From a running perspective, I really like Coach Hasenbank, he's new and excited about the program and he made me excited about it and I think we're really going places within the next few years.
Rolltide.com: Other than running, what Olympic sport would you want to compete in and why?
Moody: If it was a winter sport, I'd say skiing. When I was little, I used to want to be a snow skier. I still love it, but I can't really do it now because I'm afraid I'll hurt myself for running and Coach Hasenbank would hate me, haha, but I love snow skiing so I would try do that.
