
Women's Basketball Unveils Summer Camp Slate

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama women's basketball team will put on its annual summer camps with this year marking the inaugural camps under new head coach Wendell Hudson. The fundamental camps will kick off the summer on June 2 with the parent-child camp slated for June 6. Team camps will begin on June 9.
Campers will receive instruction from Hudson and his staff. Hudson, a former All-American at the Capstone returns to boss the bench where he has over 26 years of experience with both men and women's teams, including seven seasons in the SEC. Hudson has a proven track record of success, especially in the state of Alabama.
"I have a tremendous passion for Alabama athletics," Hudson said. "Alabama is a program that has produced First-Team All-Americans and has taken its game to the highest level, the final four. At Alabama we compete for championships, and we look forward to bringing Alabama back as an elite national competitor."
Joining Hudson on the bench is former Alabama women's basketball great Joni Crenshaw and Ty Evans. Crenshaw lettered four years at the University of Alabama for Coach Rick Moody where during her playing days as a center for the Crimson Tide she scored 716 points, grabbed 555 rebounds and registered 103 blocked shots (third most in the program's history).
Evans has been recognized as one of the top assistant coaches in the nation. Evans has made an immediate impact at every stop of his collegiate coaching career. Under his guidance, Evans has directly coached an all-conference player every season. For the second consecutive year, Evans has been invited to the prestigious Consortium, presented by Nike. The Consortium is a career development opportunity for the truly elite assistant women's basketball coaches.
Fundamental Camp:June 2-5
"Our fundamentals camp is going to be one of the best in Alabama this year. We have a new coaching staff including a few elite players who played here themselves. We are really excited about camp this year and can't wait for June to come."
Parent-Child Camp:June 6-7
"We are starting a new tradition here at Alabama. We wanted to develop a camp where parents could bond with their children using basketball to help along the process. We are expecting some great speakers at our Parent Child camp."
Team Camp:June 9-11
