Women's Golf Remains in the Hunt after Round Two

ATHENS, Ga. - ATHENS, Ga. - The No. 12 ranked Alabama women's golf team remains in the hunt after posting a second round score of 19-over-307. The Crimson Tide currently sits in third place with a two-round score of 33-over-609 at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Course.
Georgia leads the field with a 26-over-602 while Purdue follows with a 29-over-605. Sophomore Rhea Nair shot the round of the day for the Tide with a 1-over-73. After two rounds, Nair is tied for fourth overall with teammate Kathleen Ekey.
Nair put together a solid front nine by nailing one birdie and eight pars. Ekey finished the round with a 2-over-74. The junior hit three birdies on the day and sports a two-round score of 5-over-149.
Junior Laura Goodwin is in 12th place overall after shooting a second round of 5-over-77. Goodwin has a two-round score of 7-over-151. Freshman Courtney Harter turned in an 11-over-83 to sit tied for 63rd with a 16-over-160.
Senior Sarah Sturm rounds out the Tide tied for 78th overall with a two-round score of 19-over-163. Sturm turned in a second round score of 11-over-83.
Sophomore Helena Blomberg is tied for 19th overall with a 9-over-153. Blomberg shot a second round score of 6-over-78.
Play concludes on Sunday with the final round featuring a shotgun start at 9:00 am. Live scoring is available via the internet at www.golfstat.com.
