
Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at LSU/Cleveland Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. ?? The Alabama women's golf team finished tournament play with a fifth place finish at the LSU/Cleveland Classic Sunday. The Tide shot a final round of 10-over-298 to post a three-round score of 33-over-897 at the par-72 University Club. Florida State won the team title with a 20-over-884.
"We were not nearly as sharp as we were a week ago," head coach Mic Potter said. "We still have a lot to learn and need to keep working hard. This was a wakeup call for us."
Rhea Nair put together another quality tournament for the Crimson Tide. Nair shot a final round score of 3-over-75 to finish the three-round classic with a 6-over-222. Nair was the top finisher for the Tide, placing tied for eighth overall.
Freshman Courtney Harter equaled a team-best on the tournament with an even-par-72 on the final round. Harter turned in three birdies on the day. Harter finished tied for 18th overall with an 8-over-224.
Junior Kathleen Ekey followed with a final round score of 2-over-74. Ekey finished tied for 22nd with a three-round score of 10-over-226.
Junior Laura Goodwin placed tied for 26th with a three-round score of 11-over-227. Goodwin turned in a final round score of 5-over-77.
Freshman Camilla Lennarth rounded out the Tide scorers with a three-round score of 16-over-232 to finish tied for 52nd overall. Lennarth shot a final round score of 6-over-78.
As an individual, senior Sarah Sturm shot a three-round score of 16-over-232. Sturm finished the classic with a final round score of 4-over-76.
Alabama will continue its spring tournament play at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. The Tide will open play on Friday, March 21 in Athens, Ga. at the University Club.
