
Women's Golf Signs Jennifer Kirby

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama head women's golf coach Mic Potter announced the signing of Jennifer Kirby to a National Letter of Intent. Kirby will come to The University of Alabama from Paris, Ontario Canada.
"We are excited for her to be a part of our program," coach Potter said. "She has an outstanding junior and amateur record playing in both the United States and Canada. The most exciting thing about her is her upside and she will keep getting better and better."
Kirby attends Paris District High School where she has also competed in volleyball and basketball. Kirby is coached by Sean Foley, who also instructs the likes of Stephen Ames, Sean O'Hair and Hunter Mahan.
Kirby was the 2008 Ontario Provincial Champion as a junior and was named the Junior Athlete of the Year. Kirby is also a member of the Canadian National Team. Kirby has shot a 67 and finished fourth at the U.S. Junior Girls Championship.
The Alabama women's golf team wrapped up its fall season ranked No. 5 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Power Index, tied for the team's highest ranking of the season. The Tide is ranked No. 6 in the final Golf Digest Coaches' Poll of the fall. Alabama has been a mainstay in the top 10 of both polls throughout the fall season. The Tide will open its spring slate at the UCF Invitational on Sunday, March 8.
