Creighton Blanchard Advances at Seminole Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Freshman Creighton Blanchard outlasted Florida A&M's Paul Page Saturday 7-6(11), 7-6(4) to advance to the B draw quarterfinals at the Seminole Invitational. Blanchard will face up with Mississippi State's Ryan Farlow on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. (CST).
Also representing the Crimson Tide on the opening day of the tournament was senior Andrew Felsenthal and sophomore Trey Walston. Felsenthal dropped a 6-0, 6-4 decision to Florida State's Maciek Sykut, while Walston dropped a 6-4, 6-4 match to Sergio Velez of East Tennessee State. Felsenthal and Walston will take the court Sunday in the opening round of doubles competition against the Seminoles' Keith Embree and Chris Reiman. First serve is slated for 4:00 p.m. (CST).
Match play resumes Sunday and concludes on Monday.
