
Tyson David Named SEC Athlete of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southeastern Conference released its SEC Athlete of the Week honors today for the seventh week of the cross country season. Junior Tyson David earned his second SEC Athlete of the Week honor.
David is only the second University of Alabama male runner to be named SEC Athlete of the Week twice in a season. The other is current teammate junior Emmanuel Bor who has earned the honor twice in both 2006 and 2008.
David ran 23:30.10 over the course of 8,000 meters at Pre-Nationals and came home with the individual title in a field of 276 athletes including multiple All-Americans and 10 top 30 ranked teams. David helped lead Alabama to the team title by winning his second race of the year. He also won the Crimson Classic.
David currently leads the SEC at 8,000 meters by just over five seconds.
